WHY NOT? 1st Episode
WHY NOT?
The series Why Not was written and composed in a “sard” workshop, directed by Maryam Abu Auf, under the supervision of writer Maryam Naoum, scripted by Dina Najm and Magdy Amin, and a group of stars appear in the series, Amina Khalil and Hala Sedky, Sherine Reda, Muhammad Al-Sharnoubi, Maryam Al-Khasht, Hani Adel, Amr Al-Saeed and Nardine Farag. The series consists of 15 episodes and a series entitled "Qadira", song by singer Amal Maher, from the words of Nader Abdullah.
The events of the series revolve within the framework of a social drama that revolves around the experience of a girl named Alia embodied by “Amina Khalil”, 31 years old, a girl with partial penalties who's family controls her affairs and decisions in the future, but suddenly Alia decided to rebel against life and her family and control her affairs by escaping on her wedding day And that she refuses to marry Sharif, and to be independent with her life, and to spend on herself and live alone, in great defiance of the traditions of her society, and she clashed with most of her family and was exposed to many problems, but in the end she succeeded in independence and then reconciled with her family.
The audience about it was divided between two pros and cons. The first part supports the idea of "freedom" for women's liberation around which the work story revolves, while the second part rejects that idea and believes that it calls for the corruption of women's morals, especially in eastern Egyptian society. The first part supports the idea because it demands justice and equality between men and women, freedom of opinion and thought, and the freedom of women and their right to make decisions regarding their future and destiny. Contrary to the opposition department, which sees many errors in this work, it considers that the series is unrealistic and does not simulate the reality and nature of Egyptian society and does not apply to its origins or customs.
In addition to the presence of errors in the construction of characters because the character in the dramatic work is to create a situation closer to reality and to show the human aspects of the heroes and thus transform the political conflicts between the characters within the work into a conflict, which is a grave mistake because showing the flaws of the characters in conflict with the hero's will to attract more sympathy is considered a violation For the structure of the artwork, it is considered a useless deception in favor of the work, and this is what we see in the episodes of the series Why Not.
There is also an error in the narration and the division of events, because those who watch the series will notice that within the work there are clear lines between the heroines versus the mother Suhair, but we do not find the spaces that allow the viewer to question and wonder. Brainstorm, because in the chain,” why not” always precedes the answer. It is clearly wrong that the image of good and evil was created inadvertently. For example, Hussein takes care of his father and thinks about leaving and not completing his studies in Canada to stay in Egypt, while his girlfriend deletes her doctoral thesis in order to take revenge on him for his feeling of love for Alia or the image of goodness embodied in the role of Farah and her cousin Adam and Hussein while the traitorous sister's husband plays a picture evil
Dramatic work is an artistic medium intended to send a certain message despite your approval or disagreement with the content of the work. Sure, we are all villains in one person's story, but we are also angels in another person's story. Drama does not have to correspond to reality to a large extent, but it is one of the most important tools and weapons of direct artwork and sending ideas through human struggles that allow the viewer to receive the idea.
